Wildlife Professional Award Bill Antonides (left), SDGFP Wildlife Conservation Officer, presents Bill Schultze with the 2004 Professional of the Year Award. Bill has been with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge for his entire professional career, almost 30 years. He was promoted to Wildlife Biologist is 1991 after many years working in numerous Biological Technician positions. Bill has had many accomplishments at Sand Lake NWR, and has contributed to the welfare of wildlife all over the northeastern part of South Dakota. Bill has developed and maintained positive relationships and earned the respect of wildlife professionals both within and outside the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. |

Citizens Award The South Dakota Chapter of The Wildlife Society presented the 2004 Citizens Award to three deserving individuals at the 2004 Annual Meeting in Chamberlain, SD. Jeff Olson (left), Guy Tillett (middle) and Carl Stonecipher (right) were instrumental in bringing a change in the Bighorn Sheep management in the Stratebowl area of the Black Hills. All three of these gentlemen live in the Black Hills and are members of numerous conservation organizations on a local and national level. they have been very active in wildlife and conservation issues in all of South Dakota. South Dakota is very fortunate to have citizens that are aware of issues and taking action to ensure that the wildlife of South Dakota is properly managed.
